Samhall chooses EDB for a further four years
(Thomson Reuters ONE) - (Oslo, 22 January 2010) The Swedish company Samhall has signed an agreement withEDB for the supply of IT operations and support. The agreement runs for fouryears with an option to extend for a further two years. The total value of thecontract over its life is approximately SEK 80 million.Through this agreement, Samhall is continuing its collaboration with EDB for ITservices that started in 2006. The new agreement expands the area of servicessupplied by EDB, and EDB will be responsible for upgrading Samhall's clientplatform to Windows 7. EDB will also implement a powerful virtualised high-speedsolution with disaster recovery using parallel data centres. The service areasinvolved include ServiceDesk, management of the IT workplace live cycle andoperating services for applications and servers, as well as communicationsservices.Samhall is a state-owned Swedish company whose business vision is to producegoods and services with a view to creating meaningful and purposeful work forpeople with disabilities that affect their working capacity.
