Amcor Flexibles wins DuPont Award for sustainable achievements
Amcor Flexibles is proud to announce that we have received the 2009 DuPont Award for Packaging Innovation for Unilever's Bertolli® sauces packed in Amcor HeatFlex. The standup pouches have been recognized for 'Enhanced Performance' and 'Resource and Energy Optimization'.
(firmenpresse) - This award recognizes the replacement of glass jars with Amcor HeatFlex pouches, which helped Unilever to reduce their structural material usage by 70%. The lighter packaging results in reduction of transportation costs and carbon footprint, as one truckload of unfilled pouches equals 25 truckloads of empty glass jars.

Amcor HeatFlex solutions can be used for a wide range of applications, like sauces, soups, ready meals and other cooked food and pet food. Along with potential structural material savings, it offers significant benefits to both retailers and consumers. Enhanced presentation of nutrition information, freshness and quality of ingredients can be achieved by the increased print surface of the pouch. Consumers can microwave the sauces directly in the pouch without compromising on shelf life properties of the product. Retailers benefit from on-shelf differentation and easy handling during the shelf-stocking process.
