Creative Minds: Engineers Like These Are What Germany Needs
The best ideas of the competition „Creative Minds" were awarded prizes at the awards ceremony in the BARTEC company: An innovative brush cleaner ranked first in the overall standings.
(firmenpresse) - This has been the seventh time that the competition "Creative minds" took place: At the awards ceremony after many weeks of hard work, Dr. Ralf Köster, CEO of the BARTEC Group, welcomed about 180 guests in the foyer of the safety technology providing company at Bad Mergentheim. Among the guests were representatives of the communities and enterprises that have been supporting the competition, the jury members and the families of the students from 12 to 19 years of age who had taken part in the competition.
54 ideas had been submitted: The competition which invites participants to translate theory into practice and to tackle questions of economy, natural science and technology is appreciated very much. The reasons for the commitment of the enterprises mentioned by Dr. Ralf Köster do not only apply to BARTEC: They consider the promotion of the young generation as a social responsibility, they want to ensure the future viability of Germany as a technology location especially under the current circumstances, and they want to increase the attractiveness of the region especially with regard to job supply.
And they have certainly succeeded in doing so as the competition participants have brilliantly proven their inventiveness and their innovative way of implementing ideas into reality. Fascinating ideas were realized by the young people, said the president of the jury, Prof. Ditmar Hilpert from the Reutlingen business school. As a jury member, he had made the acquaintance of many smart heads who used their brain and had the courage to discard ineffective approaches, to ask committed teachers and company employees for help and to keep a stiff upper lip. Together with Iris Lange-Schmalz, the manager of the competition, Prof. Hilpert awarded 16 prizes. The overall victory was awarded for the invention of an innovative brush cleaner. The two teenagers who had submitted this project to the competition mainly impressed the jury with a highly professional concept, which even included some marketing recommendations. Besides, the jury members certified that the product was very close to practice and ready for implementation and had good market chances. The jury agreed that this had been one of the best practice projects of the last years and that Germany needed engineers like these two.
