RAE Systems Introduces New Generation of Fixed Systems
(Thomson Reuters ONE) - RAEGuard(R) S Series Transmitters and ControllersSAN JOSE, CA--(Marketwire - July 01, 2009) - RAE Systems Inc. (NYSEAmex: RAE), a leader in delivering innovative sensor solutions toserve industrial, energy, environmental, and government safetymarkets worldwide, introduced new fixed flammable and toxic gasdetection solutions. The new fixed toxic gas monitoring systemsinclude the RAEGuard® S(TM) sensor module and three scalablecontrollers. Target applications include wastewater treatment plants, petroleum processing, natural gas fields, chemical plants, papermills, power plants and steel mills. Also in place are applicationsand engineering support teams that will provide technical assistancein the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia-Pacificregions."This new family of hardwired toxic and flammable gas detectors, incombination with our wireless semi-permanent solutions such asMeshGuard®, gives RAE Systems unique product lines to supportexisting customers and new markets with cost-efficient solutions,"said Jesper Jensen, RAE Systems' fixed products manager. "OurS-series fixed monitors give users the advantage of smart sensormodules that can be remotely calibrated and connected to our wirelessnetwork."The RAEGuard S is a permanently installed single-gas detectoravailable for a range of gases, including carbon dioxide (CO2),carbon monoxide (CO), chlorine (Cl2), combustible gases (LEL),hydrogen sulfide (H2S), methane (CH4), oxygen (O2), and sulfurdioxide (SO2). It is a flexible detector head that provides analog(4-20mA) or digital (RS-485, ModBus, RTU) signals. The RAEGuard Suses a "smart" sensor module that can be calibrated offline. It canbe packaged in an explosion-proof, stainless-steel enclosure, makingit ideal for hazardous environments. All models include a digitaldisplay for viewing gas concentration readings and alarms. The FM-60 Controller is a cost efficient controller with standard16-channel 4-20 mA inputs and 64 addressable inputs. The FMC-60 hasbeen designed to operate in the full range of environments fromcommercial premises to heavy industrial applications that may requirehazardous-area sensing. The FMC-60 system operates on a 4-core(addressable) and/or 2/3-core (direct) cable network and has thecapacity to monitor up to 64 addressable and 16 direct sensors ofvarious gas types. The FMC-40, 1-to 4-channel gas alarm operates on single-channelplug-and-play cards and has been designed to operate in a full rangeof environments from commercial premises to heavy industrialapplications that may require hazardous-area sensing. FMC-40 systemapplications include steel mills, wastewater treatment plants, LPGstorage facilities, paint spray booths, chemical plants, chemicalstorage facilities, aircraft hangars and boiler rooms. The FMC-10 is a fixed single-point alarm unit that meets therequirements for economical and reliable monitoring of gas levels ina wide range of environments, including applications that may requirehazardous-area sensing. Typical monitor locations include publicbuildings, plant boiler rooms, swimming pools, and water treatmentfacilities, as well as light manufacturing and processing plants. For more information on RAE Systems' range of personal, portable, wireless and fixed gas solutions, please visit www.raesystems.com.About RAE SystemsRAE Systems is a leading global provider of rapidly deployable sensornetworks that enable customers to identify safety and securitythreats in real time.
