(Thomson Reuters ONE) - Broadcast, Cable and Telecommunications Service Providers Now HavePower to Improve Customer Video Quality in the Palm of Their HandMANSFIELD, MA--(Marketwire - July 21, 2009) - IneoQuest Technologies,Inc., the leader in High Availability Video Programming Solutions(TM)and global provider of advanced quality and service assurancesolutions for Digital Video, today announced the development of theindustry's first Apple® iPhone application to allow service providersto monitor and improve digital video quality remotely. The iVMSMobile iPhone application provides executives, operations teams andOSS operators with a real-time detailed summary of the status ofvideo quality by program, detailed analytics on programming andhistorical information to improve the immediate and long-termviability and performance of the network. As a result, the complexityof delivering digital video is simplified and customer experience isimproved while saving operational expenses and time through remoteexecution.Service providers currently turn to IneoQuest to monitor and improvethe actual digital picture the consumer sees, the digitaltechnologies used to deliver the digital picture and the controlmechanisms used to deliver interactive services, like pay-per-view orvideo on demand. The iVMS Mobile iPhone application enhances theseservices with remote access and control for service providerexecutives, operations teams, OSS operators and field technicians. The iVMS Mobile iPhone application provides remote access to:-- An immediate detailed summary of the current status of videoquality by program with quality ratings and alarms for immediateattention;-- A "program availability metric" - a simple, percentage-basedmeasurement of each program's video quality over a 24-hour period;-- Immediate access to additional performance details with one screentap to solve problems live as if in the network operations centeritself;-- Live measurements of each program's media delivery index (MDI)across the network; and,-- Detailed analytics and historical information on program qualityby location; by day, week, and month; by error type, etc. forbenchmarking and continuous improvement. The application can also be used to drill down to specific programquality and the overall program health, especially important forexecutives to meet internal QoS and SLAs. It provides real-time videosnapshots of the actual content currently being played over thenetwork, with a simple color scheme to highlight the quality of itscurrent state. Programs can be sorted by their overall health oralphabetically, with detailed real-time program information provided, all with a single touch of the screen.Service providers could also offer this capability to enhance currentcustomer service interaction. The iVMS Mobile iPhone applicationcould allow consumers to message service providers directly aboutoutages or other video quality issues, without having to pick up thephone. This capability would enable users to select the program inwhich they saw an error and touch the appropriate button to reportthe issue. This touch would send the date and time of the error, aswell as a GPS location of the user, to the service provider, allowingan operations team to see the real-time trends that are developingand correlate that information with data from their monitoringsolutions. As a result, issues can be resolved at a fraction of thetime it would take to field customer complaint calls. For theconsumer, it would save time on reporting issues and waiting forresolutions, allowing them to post issues even when their broadbandservice is down, and would enable service providers to confirm if theproblem is isolated or a larger issue."Frustrating issues that directly affect the consumer, includingblack screens, frozen video images, audio problems and slow deliveryof video on demand, must be automatically detected, fixed immediatelyand reduced over the long term in order for service providers to meetcustomer demand and grow their business," said Marc A. Todd, CEO ofIneoQuest. "The IneoQuest iVMS Mobile iPhone application is the firstto make these capabilities mobile and extends the ownership of videoquality improvements to executives, operations teams, OSS operatorsand technicians, and even one day, the consumer."See images of the iVMS Mobile iPhone application at work by visitinghttp://www.ineoquest.com/ivms-mobile.About IneoQuest TechnologiesIneoQuest Technologies, Inc., the leader in High Availability VideoProgramming Solutions, is a global provider of advanced quality andservice assurance solutions for digital video, serving customers inthe telephony, cable, broadcast and network equipment industriesworldwide.
