More than 30 institutes, 20 faculties, and two academies: while its structure may be decentralized, the University of Galati now has centralized its IT. The Academis platform from SAP partner The Red Point is overseeing the efficient management of all of university processes.
In a current feature article, the online platform SAP.info reports on a Romanian university that is combining multiple university-oriented life-cycle management solutions from SAP partners and third-party providers with the functions of SAP Business All-in-One for financials and business processes. The result? Lower management costs, more student services, and closer collaboration among the university's institutes.
In doing so, the University of Galati is also meeting the requirements of the Bologna Process, through which the European Union intends to make European academic degrees standard and compatible by the year 2010.
