transport logistic 2009 – Exhibitor numbers rise despite
Already, at this point in preparations, transport logistic 2009 has attracted more exhibitors than the previous event in 2007. This year Messe München is expecting over 1,600 exhibitors from more than 55 countries to take part in the event between 12 and 15 May. "This success should give encouragement to the sector. It is a positive signal showing that even in an economic downturn companies are willing to fly the flag and kick start their business activities at the world´s biggest trade fair for transport and logistics," said Eugen Egetenmeir, a member of the management board of Messe München.
(firmenpresse) - transport logistic will also be expanding its international reach this year. Advancing globalisation in the industry is demanding ever larger logistics networks. Worldwide just-in-time deliveries can only be guaranteed by those who build up an international network of reliable partners. Over 40 percent of the exhibitors who have registered so far come from outside Germany. This is two percentage points higher than at the last event. The trend is clear: more and more countries, regions and locations are exploiting synergies and teaming up with others to present their expertise in joint presentations. This not only makes it easier for visitors to find their way around the fair, it is also an excellent way for business locations to showcase the full width of their services and benefits. This year, for the first time, there will be a Eurasia Pavilion, featuring companies along the Europe-Asia trading route, stretching from Central Asia, Russia and the Middle East to Southwest Asia. Accompanying this, on the conference programme on Tuesday, 12 May (13:30 to 18:00) is a trade conference entitled, 'Eurasia – Place to be changed by logistics'. At this event experts will be putting forward the potential of this region for transport and logistics, above all in view of the current shifting of production from Europe to Asia, and vice versa, in the wake of the global economic downturn.
Also for the first time, France will be represented at two joint stands – at one of them with its inland and maritime ports. Another country exhibiting at a joint stand for the first time at transport logistic, is Belarus. Because of its geographical position, Belarus is an important transit country between Central Europe and Russia. And it has close trading relations with both these regions.
In addition a range of countries will again be putting on presentations at national pavilions, for example, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Lithuania, the Netherlands and Spain. Italy is also represented, with its regional logistics centres (Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Piedmont, Veneto, Liguria, Emilia Romagna and the ports of Tuscany). Many German Länder, too – from Bavaria to Hesse and North-Rhine Westphalia – will be presenting their regional, intermodal logistics concepts at joint stands and thereby demonstrating the strength of Germany as a logistics location. After retail and the automotive sector, freight logistics is still one of the highest turnover industries in Germany.
In terms of space, too, transport logistic is expanding: in 2009 it will taking up one more hall than in 2007. Exhibition space will thus reach 100,000 square metres (+10 percent) for the first time, spread between eight halls. The key players in the sector and the important international logistics markets will be represented at transport logistic 2009. The companies will be presenting the whole bandwidth of services in the fields of freight transport and logistics. Among the exhibitors are, for example, road haulage companies, forwarding agencies, railway operators, intermodal transport providers, shipping companies, airlines and airports, as well as courier, express and parcel services.
