Erotic art helps Victims of the Chinese Earthquake
Art&Aid raffles Fine-Art photographs to raise money for reconstruction in China
(firmenpresse) - Düsseldorf, 2008-07-10 – it is just about two months ago that the earth shook in China and completely destroyed areas as big as the republic of Germany. During the earthquake which measures 7.9, not only houses for living were destroyed and but also a lot of schools and Kindergardes collapsed. The society for German-Chinese Friendship e.V, now initiated a very special project to raise the money which is so desperately needed to support the children in the most wrecked area, the city of Chengdu: They raffle fine art nude photographs.
At August 6th the campaign Art&Aid raffles 66 prints of high class nude photographs taken by reputable artists. Prospects can participate for as little as EUR 5,00 per raffle ticket. With that they secure their Chance to win one of the many exceptional artworks. And at the same time they are helping children in China, because the complete money raised by the raffle is used to rebuild schools and kindergardes in Chengdu in the Sichuan province.
The Society for German-Chinese Friendship e.V. (GDCF) in Duesseldorf is the initiator of this exceptional raffle. And they care that really every cent of the money raised really goes to the victims of the earthquake. The website www.ArtAndAid.org is made especially for this campaign and displays the prints which are raffled. And prospects can buy raffletickets on the website.
Amongst the photographers there are renowned artists like Sascha Hüttenhain, Guido Karp, Marc Elf, Stefan Gesell, Roland Guth and many more. Also the Chinese photographer Fuxin (付欣) is present. He features photographs of the dancer Gege (格格). Fuxin has been the first photographer in mainland China who published books on artistic nude photography.
The prints of Art&Aid feature photomodels like Lia May, Sabrina Terence as well as celebrities like Lyen Wong (Miss Universe Shape 2005), who got Chinese roots and for that reason is quite engaged for China. The photos feature classic nude poses in black and white and color, but also more surrealistic and extravagant scenes.
On August 6th the lucky winners are drawn. One ticket is enough to participate in the raffle. But like always: the more raffletickets a prospect got the better the chances to win – and the more help for the victims.
Contact for the campaign is the Chinese-German couple Xihui Wei and Michael Zelbel. Both are into photography – Wei as a photomodel and Zelbel as a photographer. There is additional support from the websolution company einovo (www.einovo.com), the web photo printing service fotocommunity prints (www.fotocommunityprints.de) and the internet video channel for photography FotoTV.de (www.fototv.de). They made this project possible by contributing personal efford, goods and services.
GDCF uses the money raised directly for aid in Chengdu. In the coming months and years Wei and Zelbel will report about the projects in their blog on ArtAndAid.org.
