The new era of module quality? with EL Efficiency from pi4
(PresseBox) - There is no adequate module quality standard. Cell breakage, soldering faults and other processing faults are not seldom. Manual of EL image control has turned out to be unreliable, in as far as 100% control even takes. This is the reality with most module producers up to today.
pi4 possesses not only unique technology for fully automatic testing and fault classification of all conventional crystalline solar cells in the market. But as a machine producer in Berlin, pi4 has also succeeded to also now offer the fourth generation of fully automatic EL module testers so favorably priced that operator-based EL inspection will soon finally belong to the past.
"It is a quantum leap", says Thomas Manke, Manager of the Solar Department at pi4. "We have made everything better with the new Efficiency technology: cycle times have been reduced down to as low as 19s per module, the number of mechanical parts has been drastically reduced, the price markedly reduced, image quality of EL photos improved and reliability of the systems increased yet again".
"Through use of EL Efficiency technology from pi4, quality demands in module production will change", says Manke, with conviction. "In future, fully automatic 100% EL inspection with evaluation of faults in relation to long-term preformance loss will be obligatory".
The beneficiaries of this development are not only final customers, who will receive more reliable modules, but there will be also high potential for producers to achieve savings, through precise real time process control.
