High impact-resistant ceilings in sports complexes
Granule takes on the ball
Because of different uses for Sports arenas, concert and multi-functional halls, a challenge arises in the selection of appropriate materials and equipment for these facilities. A room design has to offer sound acoustical properties for music bands or verbal presentation while withstanding high levels of impact from thousands of excited or disappointed fans that can cause earthquake like vibrations as well as withstanding the flawless strike of a soccer ball at 80km/h.
Aside from the mechanical and acoustical demands on walls and ceiling paneling, ecology, room climate regulation, stable atmospheric humidity and light reflection are additional considerations.
Furthermore, aside from these mentioned product characteristics, due to the very different uses of the facilities, fire protection is gaining in importance as well. The advantages are here through the availability of acoustic paneling by Lahnau Akustik not only in the material class B1 (fire resistant) but also in the material class A2 (inflammable).
These multi-layered demands on sports facilities motivated the architectural firm Zingel to choose the product Mikropor G bs, which was developed by Lahnau Akustik, as ceiling paneling for the Tulla sports complex in Kehl.
The architectural firm Ackerbauer + Warmuth from Immenhausen chose the impact resistant ceiling paneling by Lahnau Akustik for their project of the Brüder-Grimm school sports complex in Hofgeismar.
