Kalmar delivers port equipment to Kazakhstan''s premier in-land dry port

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, has secured two important contracts to supply mobile
equipment to Kazakhstan''s premier in-land dry port, KTZE - Khorgos Gateway. The
first contract includes two Kalmar DCT80-45E7 empty container handlers and six
Kalmar DRT 450 reachstackers, which were booked into Cargotec''s fourth quarter
order intake 2014. In addition, Kalmar will deliver seven Kalmar TT 612d
terminal tractors together with ten terminal chassis, placed into the third
quarter order intake 2015. All units are expected to be delivered by quarter
four 2015.
KTZE - Khorgos Gateway is a greenfield dry port project located on the border of
Kazakhstan and China. The dry port, which by its completion in 2018 will reach
580 hectares, is expected to become a significant point of economic growth
throughout Kazakhstan, becoming a hub linking cargo between the East and West.
It will function as one of the largest international transport logistics and
distribution centers, providing Kazakhstan, China and countries of the Eurasian
region with new opportunities for access to world markets. The port is owned by
national multimodal operator JSC "KTZ Express", a 100% subsidiary of national
railway companythe Republican State Enterprise "Kazakhstan temir zholy", and
operated by "KTZE-Khorgos Gateway" LLP in cooperation with DP World.
