MOTEK '08: GERWAH's classic appliance easily withstands even the highest torque

After the move from Sinsheim to the metropolis on the banks of the Neckar, the renowned fair has substantially grown in size. And of course, trailblazers of their industries cannot miss this event. GERWAH GmbH is presenting its current portfolio including some revolutionary innovations at MOTEK 2008, too. A true highlight at the booth of the 'pioneer in innovation' is the latest version of its 'Smart-Lock'. The engineers from Grosswallstadt have taken their unique shrink disc to the next level of quality.

For almost three decades GERWAH has been a synonym for top-notch components in driving technology and conveying engineering. Thanks to the close cooperation with its customers, the company is always right on the spot when it comes to solving commonplace problems. That way, the engineers get a direct insight into the current demands of the market and can develop trailblazing products according to these needs. Economy and efficiency are the core characteristics of their designs. Besides metal bellow and elastomere couplings, GERWAH offers its customers innovative magnetic couplings which do not transmit the torque via mechanical connections but via magnetic forces. Thus they are wear-free and work without establishing direct contact - and can even be used in areas where strict hygienic regulations have to be observed.

But GERWAH's true top seller is 'Smart-Lock'. The shrink discs are recognizable at first sight by their untreated forged surfaces and convince with their unequalled quality and immense strain resistance. The classics from Grosswallstadt work with great reliability even at highest torques. The 'Smart-Lock' set includes a shrink disc and a set of cylindrical sleeves and is a real multi-talent. When flawless connections are not given any more due to excessive wear or fretting corrosion, the set re-establishes the necessary performance reliability. The disc and sleeves can be adapted universally and replace a large variety of connecting pieces. Large storekeeping of different elements by different manufacturers is a thing of the past. A few 'Smart-Lock' sets with discs of different diameters do the trick: they save space in the warehouse and reduce logistic costs as well as the duration of repair work to a minimum.



At the MOTEK 2008, the improved 7000 series of Smart-Lock is having its premiere. The new version of the shrink disc has been taken to the next level in product quality. New materials guarantee for an even larger output range. The original Smart-Lock system was virtually indestructible; but now GERWAH has been able to certify its shrink discs for even higher torques. Even under extreme production conditions, GERWAH's customers can totally rely on the appliance. A new feature, however, are the high-quality screws with the GERWAH logo. Every shrink disc has a certain number which allows quality assurance. Thanks to the thorough documentation of the manufacturing process - from melting the metal for the shrink discs to the finished product - the supplier of the raw material can be identified within no time at all.

At the fair in Stuttgart, GERWAH presents a stainless version of Smart-Lock, too. This product series opens up new fields of application. Aseptic components allow the use in facilities of the food-processing and beverage industries as well as in the chemical and pump industries.
