(businesspress24.com) - The registry of travel-domains has decided to stop the place name program. All place names will be available for registration by eligible applicants since December 12, 2007.

Applicants have needed a trade mark or service trade mark in order to register travel-domains.This changes since December 12, 2007. It will no longer be necessary for customers to receive approvals for travel-domains selected for registration. Applicants will therefore not be required to submit travel-domains they intend to register prior to registration. This policy change does not affect basic or entity eligibility. It will still be necessary for customers to be authenticated through an Authentication Provider.

ICANN Registrar Secura (http://www.domainregistry.de/travel-domain.html) helps now the customers at the pre-authentification and does all paper work for the customers. Therefore it is now easier to get a travel-domain.
